Static hosting and server logs

WikiMusic.org is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. STRATO processes requests needed to deliver the static website and to maintain the security and reliability of its hosting service. This can include the requested resource, date and time, response status, transferred data, referrer, browser information, and the requesting IP address or hostname.

STRATO states that IP addresses are retained for a maximum of seven days for detecting and defending against attacks. Client IP addresses and hostnames are anonymized in the customer-accessible logfiles. These anonymized access logfiles are available to the operator for up to six weeks; error logs contain up to the preceding five days. STRATO also provides aggregated server-side statistics. WikiMusic.org does not combine these statistics with browser-local information or use them to profile individual visitors.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interests are secure, reliable delivery of the website, diagnosis of technical failures, prevention of misuse, and basic aggregate understanding of website use. STRATO acts as a processor under an Article 28 GDPR data processing agreement.

Browser-local information

Personal ABC scores, settings, annotations where available, backup status, and selected SoundFonts are stored locally by the browser using facilities such as IndexedDB or localStorage. WikiMusic.org does not upload this material. It leaves the device only when the user explicitly exports, downloads, or transfers it. Browser controls can delete local storage, and the user is responsible for personal backups.

Contact and takedown correspondence

Messages sent to contact@wikimusic.org, copyright@wikimusic.org, or takedown@wikimusic.org are processed to answer the request, investigate copyright or publication concerns, protect legal rights, and meet legal obligations. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where a legal obligation applies, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Correspondence and supporting evidence are retained only as long as necessary for those purposes. Takedown records are normally retained for up to three years after the matter is closed, unless an ongoing dispute or legal obligation requires longer retention.

The official mailbox is hosted by STRATO and accessed by the operator through STRATO Webmail or an email client using encrypted IMAP. Incoming messages are not automatically forwarded to a separate email provider.

External links

External services such as Patreon are linked rather than embedded. No request is sent to those services during ordinary WikiMusic.org use; their own privacy terms apply after a user follows an external link.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, individuals may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or portability of their personal data and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Send requests to contact@wikimusic.org. WikiMusic.org does not use automated decision-making or profiling.

Supervisory authority

Individuals may lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for private-sector controllers in Bavaria is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
